The aim : Creation of one set of rules

1999 : The 7 associations decided to ESTABLISH the European Cotton Confederation. issued from a European contact group since 1973

2001 : The draft of the new set of by-laws and rules called European Cotton Rules was presented to the 7 associations of the Confederation

2005: Adopted by
Belgium Cotton Association (BCA) in february
Gdynia Cotton Association (GCA) in June

2006: Adopted by AFCOT on the 12th October in Deauville, during an extraordinary plenary meetting

The ECR takes into account all aspects of the cotton contracts: quantity, quality and commercial practices. The ECR specifies the way to execute contracts. AFCOT keeps its own appendix.
